HTC THUNDERBOLT HAS BEEN DELAYED AGAIN

Verizon’s HTC Thunderbolt has been under a slew of delays and bad news lately. It’s a shame because it is such a great device. Today a tweet by @BestBuy129 from California confirms that the Thunderbolt has been delayed once again. Now they are saying It looks like it “may” launch on Thursday, March 4th. That still doesn’t sound very convincing either. Sorry to break it to you all waiting to get yours hands on this 4G beast.

Bad, bad T Mobile...

Why Arnt People buying the Verizon iPhone

Seems like a Verizon iPhone 4 wasn’t just a bad idea but really bad timing.
Users are waiting for the iPhone 5 in June as we are seeing, and couple that with the huge number of users that have become devoted Android users, many of whom will never return to an iPhone. The iPhone works, its powerful and simple to use, but Android is a bit more powerful with a lot more options in every direction.
CDMA talk/web issue while not an every call issue is something that still bothers users. Slower data speeds are a detractor as well. I think we are going to see these issues resolved as Verizon rolls out these New 4G phones.

Samsung T401g (Net10, TracFone, Straight Talk)

The Samsung T401g is, in my opinion one of Net10's top of the line phones. Now, that's not saying much if you compare it to one of the four major carrier’s line ups. But if you are a Net10, TracPhone, or Straight Talk consumer, this may be what you want. First off it has decent size screen. It’s a bit grainy, but that's to be expected. While the basic interface wasn't horrible I much prefer Motorola’s UI. This bothered me most in regards to the text message center, but it may just be something you've got to adapt to. It has music player, as well as a micro SD slot which is a nice touch. This certainly isn't going to replace your iPod, but it’s a nice feature to have in case you’re without your usual music player. A disappointing fact is that there is no headphone jack; neither 2.5 nor 3.5 mm. Samsung has opted to incorporate its own charging/accessory port. This really bugged me, both because of inconvenience and maybe some arrogance from Samsung. Samsung probably makes a headphone set that works with their port, but I’d expect it to be of poor sound quality and rather pricey.
The slide out keyboard is wonderful. It’s my favorite slide out yet. I think it’s even better than the more expensive Samsung Intercept. Speaker quality and loudness were an issue. The ear speaker was quite low. I had to turn it up all the way to be able to hear. The sound quality was poor too, and these two combined were a big detractor. Net10 uses both At&T and T Mobile GSM bands. This is both a positive and negative. There are several places where I frequent that don't have T Mobile coverage and it’s nice to have At&T pick that up. But, at my home where I have full T Mobile coverage, this phone picks up At&T which is 1-2 bars at my house. It’s just the way it works I guess. The phone may not be smart enough to pick the stronger signal. At&T audio quality also isn't quite as good as T Mobile and so it can be noticed when you are on At&t. The Camera is only 1.3 megapixels so don't expect great shots, but it's there anyways. In my hand it had a solid feel, and I like that. It seems to have a durable design.
The phone itself costs $80-$100 depending on which carrier you choose.
It’s definitely overpriced, but you've got to take it if you want a halfway decent phone on one of these carriers.
If you text a lot and want an economical service provider, this is a good choice for you.
If you've got money for a major carrier and want a better phone, go take a look there.

Additional specs:

Samsung T401G, Mobile Web, MP3 Player (cable and SD card not included), 1.3 Megapixel camera and video recorder, Bluetooth® Wireless Technology, Slider QWERTY Keyboard, Caller/Picture/Ringtone ID, MMS Picture Messaging, Buy Downloadable Ringtones and Graphics using airtime minutes, Vivid Color Display, Voicemail, Call Waiting, Hands-free Speaker, Voice Recorder, Vibration Alert, Auto Redial, Key Pad Lock, Hearing Aid Compatible (M3), Alarm Clock, 15 Polyphonic Ringtones and Phonebook with up to 1000 entries.

At&t knows they are loosing the iPhone battle for the most part. Yes, many iPhone users are still going to be on at&t for a long time to come. Although many not by their choosing.

So now, they turn to pushing android phones. How will that work for them? As of now they have a bad track record with Android. They are known as having the most locked down Android devices of any carrier. That just really upsets me. Android is supposed to be open source, have it as you like it, and here are the carriers locking it down. But to many, Android only means another phone that does email, web, and social networking. They don't see the beauty of what it really is as we tech nerds do. Back to the topic at hand. I think we may see an improvement in At&t android phones. They definitely look awesome, hopefully they will lighten up on the junk ware.

And I think we will see a better network. They claim to have been improving it. With all the competition it's only going to be better for the consumer!
